If you love having Garden City Arts and our programming in your community, then please consider supporting the arts with a monetary donation on November 29th during MatchDay. MatchDay is a unique, once a year opportunity made possible by Western Kansas Community Foundation that will make your donation go even further. All donations between $20 - $2,000 made between November 15th - 29th will be eligible for a match. Your donation will go directly to Garden City Arts to help us cover our immediate needs and future program expenses, while WKCF’s match dollars go into our endowment fund to ensure that the arts will have deep roots to sustain our future.

During last year's MatchDay the community donated a total of $10,430 to Garden City Arts! Here's how we used your donations:

  • We expanded the 'GCA Kit' Program. This program provides monthly art projects during the school year for 655 children in 20 classrooms & homes with limited access to the arts.

  • So far in 2022, we have offered over 400 programs that have increased access to the arts of people of all ages.

  • We partnered with Downtown Vision to revamp the Banner art Project. net proceeds from this event will now go to funding future public works of art. Through programs like the banner art project, GCA has paid roughly $21,500 for artists in our area.

Garden City Arts has been VERY busy in 2022 finding the right balance between new online/distance programming that became popular during the pandemic and our old in-person staples. So far this year we have had an estimated 12,689 patron interactions! GCA estimates that 76% of the services offered to our patrons are free for them to enjoy. Help us keep our programming free by donating to Garden City Arts this MatchDay.

Each year for MatchDay, Garden City Arts commissions a local artist to create a sticker to help our donors proudly show off their support for the arts. Get your sticker by donating to Garden City Arts on MatchDay OR by stopping by our booth and requesting one during the MatchDay event hosted by Western Kansas Community Foundation on November 29th.

This year local artist Robin Valenzuela created a beautiful yucca to represent the giving and creative spirits of the people who call Southwest Kansas home! The image also pays homage to Sandhills Art Association which was an arts organization that made significant strides in growing the arts before they disbanded in 2017.
